As a Senior Graphic Designer for Luminis Health, a community based hospital network, I have been fortunate to work on an array of marketing and communication initiatives. From social media campaign giveaways, to local publication print ads, rebranding collateral for our Foundation team, even partnering with the Bowie Baysox to run program ads, information booths and design park signage.
As a Senior Graphic Designer at Newmark Knight Frank I have been tasked with building marketing collateral across all types of projects. Below are a few of my favorite projects that I had the privilege to work on.
A unique collection of whitepapers published by Newmark Knight Frank’s National Research Team.
Our most recent collaboration with NKF’s Research Department. October 2018’s white paper focused on Speculative Suites, which allowed our team to incorporate photos from a recent soon-to-be-leased property at Met Square. These photos uplifted the design combined with redefined brand standards focused on the hierarchy of the color palette, rag paragraphs and much more concise charts. I also was able to turn a chart into an infographic that utilizes orthogonal cubes as blocks of data.
I worked directly with NKF’s Research Team to develop June 2018’s Thought Leadership Whitepaper debunking common myths within today’s real estate market. The challenge here was the length of this whitepaper, and showcasing each myth without confusing the reader. I created a grid that allowed me to stay consistent from section to section and used NKF’s brand standards and color palette to make each myth have its own color.
This publication received national media coverage both by Bisnow and REJournals. Data from this Whitepaper was also picked up by USA Today’s Money section.
March 2018’s Thought Leadership Whitepaper focused on apartment amenities. Since I was familiar with our multi-housing division, ARA, I contacted the Marketing Manager to see what multi-housing projects I could pull photos from. By piecing together a list of recently delivered properties in DC, Maryland and Northern VA, I was able to highlight key talking points combined with infographics and call-outs within the whitepaper. This layout utilized newly release NKF brand standards, but helped to shape the national standards specifically for NKF Research.
While working as a Senior Technical Writer & Designer at Elemental LED I had the opportunity to develop many supporting documents to help launch and maintain product life cycles. I advanced our technical documentation by designing clear and easy to read specification sheets, loaded with many diagrams and charts. I leaned heavily on my communication background to build Installation Guides that incorporate step by step instructions and information graphics on how to use our components to build complex systems. I often collaborated with the Marketing team to design integral product logos and created UI for the Elemental LED’s first ever App with the TOUCHDIAL LED Color Controller. I worked directly with our Engineering team to gather all technical information to write the guides. I then partnered with the Supply Chain and Marketing teams to help push the product to market by ensuring all packaging guidelines are met, installation materials are included, and finished the packaging by creating labels and UPCs for hundreds of products.
Working with NKF’s Tenant Representation Team we were tasked with developing a creative design for jacket juggernaut, Alpha Industries. We wanted to make our pitch mimic a fashion magazine, and create an unboxing feel similar to opening a new product. The end result was better than the team could imagine, and impressed the client greatly. This has become an internal best in class submission from our Mid-Atlantic Region.
My fiance and I were on a tight wedding budget, but wanted to offer our friends and family a beautiful set of invitations for our wedding which would take place in Guadalajara and Chapala, Mexico. We decided to letterpress the cards, but we knew this would raise the cost significantly. So instead of paying to have our wedding suite printed I built and then calibrated a bottle-jack letterpress. We also bought and cut all of our own paper and I came up with the wedding suite designs focusing on a papel picado theme. From there I created a fantastic set of save the dates, invitations, RSVPs, menus, thank you cards, and programs for over 100 guests.
While working as an Associate Art Director at INSTIGATORZINE, an art & literature publication based in Jersey City, New Jersey, I would roll up my sleeves and tackle Feature Articles from time to time. This was one of my favorite articles as the simple color palette matched that of the artist's style.
